2. General Description

The Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “Flute, Clarinet and Piano in Chamber Music” is an international project designed to foster advanced artistic, interpretative, and collaborative skills among students of flute, clarinet, and piano.

The programme combines a virtual preparatory component with a short-term physical mobility, promoting innovative learning and teaching practices, intercultural exchange, and the internationalisation of higher music education.

The project focuses on chamber music repertoire from the Classical period to contemporary music, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation among students and teachers from different European higher education institutions.

 

3. Objectives

  • To enhance students’ knowledge and performance practice of chamber music repertoire for flute, clarinet, and piano;
  • To develop ensemble, listening, and collaborative skills in a multicultural context;
  • To promote interaction and pedagogical exchange between students and teachers from partner institutions;
  • To strengthen the international dimension of the G. Braga Conservatory’s educational offer;
  • To foster intercultural awareness and teamwork through artistic collaboration.

4. Programme Structure and Activities

The BIP includes the following activities:

  • Individual instrumental lessons (flute, clarinet, piano);
  • Chamber music coaching in small mixed ensembles;
  • Masterclasses held by visiting professors;
  • Thematic workshops on style, interpretation, and ensemble practice;
  • Rehearsals and performance preparation;
  • Final public student concert and teachers’ concerts.

5. Virtual Component

Period: April 2026

The virtual component represents the introductory and preparatory phase of the BIP and takes place in the weeks preceding the physical mobility.

Main activities:

  • Presentation of participating institutions, teachers, and students;
  • Online activities to encourage interaction and group cohesion;
  • Presentation and selection of chamber music repertoire;
  • Introductory online lessons focusing on stylistic, technical, and interpretative aspects;
  • Sharing of learning materials, scores, and video resources;
  • Guided discussion on the role of flute, clarinet, and piano in chamber music settings;
  • Initial individual or small-group study of musical parts;
  • Online team-building activities aimed at fostering collaboration and intercultural dialogue.

The virtual component ensures effective preparation for the in-person phase and supports continuous interaction among participants.

6. Physical Mobility Component

Period: 23 April to 2 May 2026, including travel days.

Duration: 10 days (total)

The physical mobility takes place at the G. Braga Conservatory in Teramo/Giulianova and includes intensive face-to-face teaching, ensemble rehearsals, and public performances.

7. Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the BIP, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate advanced interpretative and technical skills in chamber music performance;
  • Perform chamber music repertoire for flute, clarinet, and piano with stylistic awareness;
  • Apply effective ensemble communication and collaborative strategies;
  • Work productively in multicultural and international artistic contexts;
  • Critically reflect on their own performance practice and that of their peers;
  • Engage in artistic cooperation using both digital and in-person learning environments.

8. ECTS Recognition

The programme awards 3 ECTS credits, corresponding to:

  • Active participation in the virtual component;
  • Attendance and engagement in individual and chamber music lessons;
  • Participation in rehearsals and workshops;
  • Public performance in the final concert.

ECTS recognition will be granted by the sending institutions in accordance with Erasmus+ KA131 regulations.

9. Expected Results

  • Public performances of chamber music works for flute, clarinet, and piano;
  • Creation of multimedia outputs (audio and video recordings);
  • Enhancement of students’ artistic, pedagogical, and intercultural competences;
  • Strengthening of institutional cooperation and long-term partnerships among participating conservatoires.

10. Eligible students

At least 5 students from each institution.

They  must be enrolled in one of the following courses: flute, clarinet or piano. Students may be accompanied by their teachers.

11. Mobility costs:

The mobility costs (short-term SMS) are borne by the participating partner institution.
