1. DEADLINES: APPLICATION SUBMISSION
All international students must take the entrance exam only during the autumn session 2025/2026.
Applications must be submitted from June 13 to September 5, 2025.

2. PRE-ENROLLMENT ON UNIVERSITALY PORTAL
International students who require a visa and reside abroad (including Turandot students for A.Y. 2026/2027) must register and complete the Pre-enrollment Application on the UNIVERSITALY portal.
It is recommended to complete this by the end of June in order to obtain all documents necessary for entering Italy and enrolling on time.
Once the application is validated by the Conservatory, the candidate must submit it to the Italian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence for the issuance of the student visa, and then proceed to complete the admission application via the online "Isidata Services" platform
Please note:
Approval from the Conservatory does not guarantee the issuance of a visa nor the right to enrollment.
This procedure does not apply to:

EU citizens and those from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, San Marino, and Vatican City;

Non-EU citizens already legally residing in Italy (as per Art. 39, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree 286/1998);
-
Students already in the Schengen Area with EU study grants (e.g. Erasmus+ programs).

3. TURANDOT PROJECT 2026/2027
Chinese students interested in the Turandot Project for A.Y. 2026/2027 should refer to the UNIVERSITALY portal for detailed information.
4. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Unless explicitly requested by the Academic Office, documents sent by email will not be accepted. All documents must be uploaded to the applicant’s online Isidata file after validation of the pre-enrollment.
For First-Level (Bachelor) Courses:

Admission application printed from the system, completed and signed;
-
Proof of payment of the €40 admission fee;
-
Copy of a valid ID;
-
Original foreign qualification or certified copy issued by the institution (with official translation);
-
Comparability certificate issued by CIMEA ENIC-NARIC Italy (pending issuance, attach receipt);
-
Verification certificate by CIMEA ENIC-NARIC Italy (pending issuance, attach receipt);
-
Declaration of value showing academic eligibility to access university in the home country;

For Chinese students: both "Gao Kao" (minimum 300/750) and "Yikao" exam results, with a combined score of at least 400/750;

Non-EU students residing abroad: study visa and later residence permit (attach proof of immigration appointment if permit is pending);

Non-EU students already residing in Italy: proof of presence;

Self-declaration of not being enrolled in another Conservatory through the Turandot project or as an international student, and not having failed or withdrawn from another Conservatory for A.Y. 2025/2026.
For Second-Level (Master) Courses:
Same as above, plus:
-
Certificate/transcript of completed exams or Diploma Supplement.
5. ENTRANCE EXAMS
Admission is subject to passing an entrance exam that evaluates theoretical, interpretative, and/or compositional skills consistent with European higher music education standards.
Admission programs are available in the “Study Paths” section on the Conservatory’s website.
Exams will be held based on the calendar published after the application deadline. Dates may be adjusted based on the number of applicants.

Italian language test for international students: September 17, 2025

Autumn session: September 18–20, 2025
NOTE:Second-Level applicants who earned their First-Level degree outside the Conservatory or music academies must also take an oral theoretical interview to assess their basic training.
5.1 ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST
All international students must take the Italian language proficiency test on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 (time to be announced online).
The test is in-person and students must bring valid ID. Students who fail this test cannot take the theoretical or instrumental/vocal exams.
Even if students have submitted documents requesting exemption, they must still take the test. A passing result won’t affect admission eligibility, but:
If students pass but show difficulty understanding artistic training content, they will need to enroll in an Italian language course (offered by the Conservatory or another certified Italian institution) before mid-October 2025 to finalize enrollment.
The course fee will vary based on proficiency level, hours, and class size. Progress will be checked quarterly throughout the academic year.
6. ENROLLMENT
The final ranking will be published after the autumn session. Admission depends on the candidate's ranking and availability of places in each class.
⚠️ Admission is provisional until all documents are verified.
By January 31, 2026, candidates not yet enrolled via Universitaly will have their visa revoked and be reported to the immigration authorities.

Admission A.Y.2024/2025
- EXTRA-EU international students resident abroad RESERVED QUOTAS SCHEME
- Chinese students participating in the Turandot Project A.A. 2025/2026: RESERVED QUOTAS SCHEME
All international students will have to take the admission exam only in the fall session 2024/2025.
International students resident abroad applying for entry visas (including Turandot students for A.A. 2025/2026) must access the UNIVERSITALY portal in order to fill in the "PRE-ENROLLMENT APPLICATION" and wait for the validation before filling in the application for admission on ISIDATA services, including all the validated documentation in the Universitaly procedure. It is advisable to make the pre-enrrolment by the end of June to be able to obtain all the documentation useful to the entrance in Italy and to the eventual enrollment, according to schedule.
Once validated by the Conservatory, the candidate must submit the application for pre-enrollment to Italian Diplomatic/Consular Representation in the country of residence for the issuance of the Study/University Registration Visa.
Prior acceptance by the Conservatory does not confer any right to obtain the visa, which remains the exclusive competence of the Diplomatic/Consular Representation, nor does it confer the right to enroll to our Conservatory.
Chinese students interested in participating in the Turandot Project A.A. 2025/2026 must access the UNIVERSITALY portal in order to fill in the relevant " PRE-ENROLLMENT APPLICATION "; no deadline has been officially announced yet (2023/2024 was 26 August 2022).
ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST
All international students - both visa applicants for study purposes and those who regularly stay in Italy - must take the B2 level Italian language test.
The Italian language knowledge test will take place on Tuesday September 3rd, 2024; the exam will take place exclusively in person. Ineligible students will not be able to take subsequent tests.
